I-COM have discovered that the Google Adwords External Keyword Tool is now providing approximate search volume stats. This created quite a buzz around the I-COM offices as we have been wishing that Google would provide the actual numerical stats for so long. The Inside Adwords blog post regarding this change states that it has been done based on advertiser feedback.
The effect of this is substantial; we can now use these approximate search volumes to provide more detailed estimates relating to the costs of a PPC campaign, and for specific keywords. We can also use this tool from an SEO perspective in determining how much traffic certain keywords could potentially achieve in comparison to others.
